Willow karee, River karee (Eng.), Witkaree (Afr.)
Naturally occurring on the banks of rivers and marshlands in a narrow strip that follows the Orange River from the Free State through the Northern Cape to southern Namibia. The White Karee makes a good shade tree in gardens, with its drooping habit similar to willow trees. It is also a fast growing species, good to plant in newly established gardens as a pioneer plant.
