This small tree or shrub is characterized by glossy leaves and a rounded dome. Hardy and fast growing, it can be clipped into a hedge or topiary. It does particularly well in coastal gardens as it tolerates sandy dunes very well. It is water-wise and attracts birds and insects to your garden.

Propagation

Cuttings
Cuttings should be taken in beginning or end of summer. Take cuttings of around 8cm. Remove one third of the foliage at the base of the cutting. Dip into hormone rooting powder and insert into sandy soil.
