Real yellowwood

Podocarpus latifolius

Yellowwood (Eng.), Geelhout, Opregte geelhout (Afr.)

1/3

The slowest growing indigenous yellowwood with probably the most sought after wood. The unusual textural appearance of the leaves makes it a good contrast or background for other trees. Its characteristics make these trees popular for bonsai. Due to past over-exploitation, little is now harvested for wood. RSA National Tree No’: 18
