This fascinating small species has soft-textured and wavy, green leaves with unusual pineapple-like flowers. Its compact growth habit and long-lasting​ flowers make it a great addition to a small, well-lit rockery type garden or as a superb potted plant. It is said to be the most stunning of the Eucomis species.

Harvesting

Harvest seed pods when ripe and store them until spring. Flowers can be cut for floral arrangements, but the flowers tend​ to last longer if left on the plant.

Sow seeds in spring when ripe. Sow seeds at a depth of 1 to 2 cm, and space them 20 cm apart.
Division
Divide offsets during the dormant period. Plant the offsets with their necks at soil level, and space them 20 cm apart.
