Plectranthus amboinicus is a large, fleshy, perennial plant which is highly aromatic and multi-branched. The plant has short, soft, erect hairs, with distinctive smelling leaves. The stem is fleshy, about 30–90 cm long, with long rigid hairs. The taste of this leaf is pleasantly aromatic with an agreeable and refreshing odour. Flowers are on a short stem and are pale purplish. One of the Plectranthus species more tolerant of sun and planted as a medicinal herb.

Cuttings
Make 10-15cm cuttings from fleshy stems and remove the bottom leaves. Root in sandy soil and keep moist until well-rooted.
