Tillandsia

Tillandsia spp.

Airplants (Eng.), Lugplante (Afr.)

Tillandsias are a genus of 650 perennial, evergreen flowering plants from South America and West Indies. Some have adapted to grow in trees in rainforests or swamps while others are from rocks or deserts, often without soil and thus often referred to as airplants. Usually the thinner the leaf, the more water needed.
