Buffalo grass

Stenotaphrum secundatum

Buffalo grass can also refer to other grasskinds, but S. cecundatum grows along coastlines of America, Australia and Africa. The grass grows into a thick carpet and makes this a popular, waterwise lawn or turf. Slow growing makes it more difficult to establish, but low maintainance in the future. A wise choice for more waterwise alternatives to kikuyu lawns.
