Lesser calamint is a small perennial shrub, forming a compact mound of shiny, green oregano-like leaves. The lesser calamint smells like a cross between mint and oregano and is part of the mint family. Used as a spice in Italian cooking, where it is referred to as mentuccia, nipitella or nepitella.

Harvesting
