Peacock Iris

Moraea spp.

There are about 120 species in this genus of deciduous or semi-deciduous cormous perennials occurring in seasonally moist grasslands in Sub-Saharan Africa. From spring to summer the plant produced a succession of short-lived iris-like flowers.
