Klein Karoo ox-tongue

Gasteria brachyphylla

Medium-sized succulent with interesting leaves. Waterwise and popular pot plant from the dry Klein Karoo areas in South Africa. Similar to Gasteria disticha, but with smooth, shiny leaves.

Propagation

Seed
Sow seed in well-draining medium and cover slightly with a layer sand. They should germinate in 3 weeks. Use a fungiscide to limit rots!
Division
Divide clusters of plants and replant the individuals.
Cuttings
Leaf cuttings with a heel can be left to callus for a week and then be plated in a well-draining potting soil.
