Mathiasella

Mathiasella bupleuroides

1/2

An evergreen plant native to Mexico, undiscovered until 1954. It was named in honour of the Californian plantswoman, Mildred Mathias. The species name 'bupleuroides' means it resembles the genus 'Bupleurum', but its umbeliferus flower heads with nodding bracts look more like that of a Hellebore.
