Coral Aloe

Aloe striatula

Hardy Aloe

It forms a shrub that can grow up to 2 m in height and is identified by its dark green stripes on the leaf sheaths and stems. Striking yellow flowers rise above the plant in spring and are present through summer, but it can sometimes flower throughout the year. It is very tolerant towards drought, but can also withstand very cold temperatures.

Harvesting

Seeds should be allowed to dry for at least 3 months after flowering before they are harvested.

Propagation

Seed
Sow seeds during summer months in sandy soil. Germination will take place within a few weeks. Keep seedlings' soil moist and well-drained.
Cuttings
Take stem cuttings during summer months and allow to dry for a few hours before planting in a rooting medium. Keep roots moist, but do not overwater.
