Slangbos

Stoebe plumosa

1/2

Known as a grey-silver, sprawling, woolly, softly woody fynbos shrub, the Slangbos is both a beautiful addition to the Cape landscape and any temperate garden, as well as a thorn in the flesh to various farmers across South Africa as it tends to invade mismanaged fields. As an invasive plant it is known as a 'Bankrotbossie', extremely hard to eradicate. A truly ornamental plant, and clearly very hardy, it can also be used for medicinal purposes, and is a great addition to any temperate garden.
