A subspecies of P. purpuratus that has purple underneath the leaves under certain conditions. It is a useful succulent groundcover that grows in shade and semi-shade often described as 'dry shade'. They grow happily underneath trees.
Sow seed in Spring as the days warm up.
Make cuttings from the fleshy stems and strip the bottom leaves. Plant in pottingsoil to root.
The stems form new roots where the touch the soil. Remove and replant into a new area.
