An evergreen creeper and subspecies of P. purpuratus that has dense hairs and occurs naturally at high altitudes. 'Montanus' means 'from the mountain'- it is an alpine plant and is resistant to light frost. Use it is a ground cover or potplant.
Sow seed in Spring. Keep moist until germinated.
Take cuttings from shoots and remove leaves from the bottom half. Place in potting soil and keep moist.
