Carentan is a hardy leek, that has medium to large stems, good yields​ and tolerates poor soils. It is a fast-growing and vigorous variety that is easy to grow and is low maintenance - perfect for beginner gardeners. Carentan has a delicate, mild flavor, and is great fresh or cooked.

Harvesting

Harvest blanched stalks when they are about 5 cm in diameter, usually about 4 months after planting. Harvest with care as not to damage adjacent bulbs. Immature plants can be harvested throughout the growing season.

Direct sow seeds 10-12 mm deep and at least 10-15 cm apart. Germinates in 10-15 days. Plant seedlings 20 cm apart. Sow in Summer to Autumn
