Harvesting

Onions that are going to be stored can be harvested once the leaves begin to wilt and dry, about 110-250 days after sowing. Tie the onions up in bundles and store in a cool dry place. Onions that are going to be eaten fresh can be harvested when they reach the​ desired size.

Sow seed directly 2.5 cm deep and space onions 5 cm apart. Seeds take 7-10 days to germinate. The ideal temperature for germination is at least 15°C. Seeds don't need special treatment.
