Fig 'Tiger'

Ficus carica 'Tiger'

1/4

Figs are small deciduous trees with large leathery leaves. Tiger fig fruit has prominent yellow and green stripes with pink flesh. Tiger Striped figs are light yellow and green-striped, medium-sized and have a rather bottom-heavy tear-drop shape. Beneath the green-ribbed skin lies a crimson-colored seeded pulp with a flavor similar to that of strawberry or raspberry jam. The flavor is light and sweet, as fully ripe Tiger Stripe figs have a high sugar content. Also called “Candy Stripe” figs, this variety is considered to be one of the best tasting of all figs.
